I worked with a woman who was a former girlfriend of Clarence Thomas and was well aware that Anita Hill's accusations were true but she never stood up. So Anita was left out there, alone. <br />Years later, the now retired former girlfriend told her story safely hidden behind the mantle of retirement. When asked why she didn't support Anita during that horrible hearing she said that she was a single mother and couldn't afford to be blackballed by the system.<br />Women must make choices and in the end as you state, "so it went, and so it goes".
